Volunteer for
Kick It
In the Park
This summer, the City of Los Angeles is bringing free, family-friendly World Cup watch parties to Rec & Park centers citywide. We're launching a volunteer pilot at select sites — help us build the model for future global events.
About Kick It In the Park Volunteering
From June 11 to July 19, 2026, the City will host daily World Cup watch parties rotating across different Recreation & Parks sites citywide.
Activations include:
- Live match screenings
- Youth soccer clinics and skills activities
- Family-friendly fun zones
- City resource tables and programming
Volunteer Roles
We are recruiting two types of volunteers. Both roles are critical to making each celebration a success.
District Lead Volunteer Coordinators
Neighborhood-Based Leadership
- Welcome and guide attendees; help create an inclusive, positive atmosphere
- Support and organize general volunteers during each activation
- Help troubleshoot minor issues and escalate concerns to City staff
- Represent the City and your neighborhood with professionalism and pride
Ideal for community leaders, experienced volunteers, and individuals comfortable in public-facing settings.
General Volunteers
Day-of Support · One Shift or Many
- Greet attendees and provide wayfinding
- Assist with event set-up and breakdown
- Assist with programming or tabling
- Support accessibility and inclusive engagement
Whenever possible, volunteers will be placed in their home district — though some flexibility may be needed to ensure full staffing across all pilot sites.
What to Expect
Here's what you need to know about time commitment, eligibility, and training before applying.
Time Commitment
- General Volunteers: Sign up for one shift or multiple shifts – your choice! Shifts are around 4 hours.
- District Leads: Each district will have seven total activation days (approximately one every five days). We ask that our Leads commit to all or nearly all seven days for consistency.
Eligibility
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be reliable and able to fulfill confirmed shifts.
- First, complete a general registration form and any required waivers to sign up as a Kick It In the Park volunteer.
- Once approved by the organizers, you'll be able to sign up for specific shifts at your chosen district location.
Training

- Training will prepare you for your role and help you understand expectations.
